PURPOSE:To increase the molding velocity without generating defect on the glass product by injecting the fine droplets of a low-temp. liquefied gas onto the inner surface of the glass product immediately after being press-molded to quench and solidify the product. CONSTITUTION:The low-temp. liquefied gas (e.g., liquefied nitrogen) in a storage tank 14 is introduced into an air tank 4 from an insulated pipeline 18 through gas-liq. separators 14, 17, etc., to cool compressed air to about 0 deg.C or below, then the pressure of the gas is reduced to 3-6kg/cm<2> by a pressure reducing valve 5, and the gas is supplied to a cooling nozzle 3 through a slide valve 6 and the air hole 8 of a nozzle head 7. The low-temp. liquefied gas in the storage tank 14 is simultaneously supplied to the inside pipe 9 of the nozzle 3 through a gas-liq. separator 15, a flexible insulated tube 10, a solenoid valve 11, and a tube 12, and the fine droplets of the low-temp. liquefied gas are injected onto the inner surface 50 of the glass product immediately after being molded in one of the press-forming dies 1 which are fixed on a rotary table 2 at a specified pitch to quench and solidify the product.
