PURPOSE:To improve the operability and effectively use storage mediums by systematically performing save/restore operations of files on large-capacity storage devices and joining save mediums like magnetic tapes for saving into one. CONSTITUTION:This system consists of large-capacity storage devices 1-1-1-n on which files to be saved exist, a saving control statement file 2, a saving means provided with a save determining part 4, a control information editing part 5, a control information output part 6, and a save processing part 7, a print image output device 8 which outputs the save condition, a saving device 9 implemented with a magnetic tape or the like, a restoring control statement file 10, a restoring means 11 provided with a control information reading part 12, a control information analyzing part 13, a control information restoring part 14, a restore determining part 15, a restore processing part 16, and a print image output device 17 which outputs the restore condition, and large-capacity storage devices 18-1-18-n on which files to be restored exist. The saving means 3 is operated at the time of saving files, and the restoring means 11 is operated at the time of restoring them.
