PURPOSE:To transfer a multicolor toner image without generating the irregularities in the image and with fidelity, and to obtain a multicolor image without color oozing, or character oozing, by providing a transfer auxiliary device that projects a light quantity by which the potential of a photosensitive body of a part where no toner is attached is lowered by -200V--400V prior to electrostatic image transfer. CONSTITUTION:The light quantity by which the potential of the photosensitive body of the part where no toner is attached in the auxiliary device is lowered by -200V--400V, is photoirradiated prior to the electrostatic image transfer. In other words, an image on which toner images developed with toners of a red, a blue and a black are superimposed, receives photoirradiation from the surface of the photosensitive body by a pre-transfer exposure device L. Next, it is transferred on a recording sheet 61 sent by the carrying belt 62, and carrying roller 63 of a paper carrying unit D by a transfer pole 50. A sheet of transfer paper on which the toner image is transferred, is separated from the photosensitive body by a separation pole 51 by AC corona discharge, and is carried to a fixer 52, then, a color hard copy can be obtained. A cleaning device 46 is brought into contact with a photosensitive drum 40 in which the transfer is completed, and cleaning is performed with a blade 47, and an unrequired toner is removed from the surface of the drum.
