摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the resolution to reduce aberrations and increase the lightness by separating a picture on a line to be read into two and leading respective pictures to light receiving parts to form an image. CONSTITUTION:When LEDs 53 successively emit the light in the array direction, a line X to be read of an original 51 moving in the subscanning direction of an arrow Y is irradiated with the light. The light reflected on the line X to be read passes a mirror 126 and the first and second array lenses 27 and 28 and is reflected on a roof mirror 30 and passes lenses 27 and 28 again and passes respective sides of a mirror 26 and reaches the first line A1 and the second line A2. The light from the line to be read is separated into two in this manner and is led to light receiving parts 1 on lines A1 and A2 to form an image. That is, picture information on the line to be read is decomposed into picture elements, and images of picture elements are formed on light receiving parts 1 on lines A1 and A2, and they are successively photoelectrically converted to read the picture. This operation is continuously performed to read the whole of picture elements on the original.
