PURPOSE:To use a small-sized storage battery to design an optimum system by selecting the storage battery in accordance with a required level in consideration of the variance of solar radiation in a day to operate the system. CONSTITUTION:A switch 5 is closed and a switch 6 is opened till the morning when solar radiation begins; and when power is generated in a solar battery 1 by solar radiation, a storage battery 3 is charged, and therefore, the quantity of stored electric charge is increased while describing a curve (a), and the switch 6 is closed to start the operation of a load 2. Though solar radiation is varied in a day by some cause and the quantity of stored electric charge is reduced as shown by a curve (b), the operation of the load 2 is continued because the quantity of stored electric charge in the storage battery 3 is sufficient. If solar radiation is restored, the quantity of stored electric charge in the storage battery 3 is increased as shown by a curve (c). When the storage battery 3 is overcharged, the switch 5 is opened for the purpose of protecting the storage battery 3, and the operation of the load 2 is continued until the quantity of stored electric charge reaches an overdischarge level. |
