PURPOSE:To realize a characteristic executing desired clipping action with a few logic circuits and a few control circuits by permitting a coincidence detection circuit to detect the logical value of the most significant bit in an input value and an output circuit to specify an output value. CONSTITUTION:The input value of N-bits (N: any integers greater than zero), which is expressed by complements of 2, is inputted. M-bits (M: integers greater than zero and not greater than N) including the most significant bit are inputted. The coincidence detection circuit 4 judges whether all the M-bits are of logical value '0' or '1'. If all of them are of logical value '0' or '1', the output switch circuit 6 regards the constant '0' of N-bits as an output value: otherwise, it regards an input value as an output value. Thus, only a few control circuits can clip. |
