NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are 1-5C alkyl; R3 is 1-11C alkyl; A is -S(CH2)nS- (n is 2-10). EXAMPLE:A 4,11-dithiatetradecanoic diacid bis{4,6-di-t-buthyl-2-[1-(3,5-di-t- buthyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]p henyl}ester. USE:A degradation-preventing agent for organic material. Especially useful in prevention of thermal and oxidative degradation of natural and synthetic polymers. PREPARATION:A bisphenolmonoacrylate compound expressed by formula II is reacted with an alkanediol expressed by formula III to provide a compound expressed by formula. The reaction is normally carried out in a solvent such as n-hexane, etc., preferably in the presence of a basic catalyst such as sodium methoxide, etc. |
