PURPOSE:To dispose an external magnet in proximity to the surface of a magneto-optical disk and execute lap writing of the magneto-optical disk by magnetic field modulation by providing a protective film having lubricity on the uppermost surface layer of the disk. CONSTITUTION:The protective film 3 consisting of SiO2, etc., is formed between a pregroove pattern layer 2 consisting of a UV curing resin on a glass substrate 1 and a recording medium layer 4 and furthermore, the protective film 5 consisting of the same material is formed between the recording medium 4 and the uppermost protective film 6 as well. The film 6 is formed by incorporating a carbon fluoride lubricating agent into an org. resin such as epoxy resin and forming the film thereof by a spin coating method, etc. The magneto-optical disk 7 provided with the protective film having such lubricity on the surface can be disposed with the external magnet in proximity thereto and, therefore, the lap writing of the information by modulating the magnetic field of a magnetic head 9 under the irradiation of laser light 8 like DC thereto is permitted. |
