PURPOSE:To obtain an invariably stable and nondefective image by providing an elastic body layer which makes a toner carrier flexible and a rubber layer which relaxes the deformation of the toner carrier so that the elastic body layer is not deformed directly by a toner control member and improve the uniform contactness of the toner control member. CONSTITUTION:A developing roller 12 is constituted by fitting the elastic body layer 122 on a rotary driving shaft 121, mounting a cylinder 123 formed of a rubber layer outside the elastic body layer 122, and installing an electrode layer 124 and a toner carrier layer 125 outside the cylinder 123. The elastic body layer 122 is formed of an elastic material such as rubber and the whole of the developing roller 12 is made flexible by the elastic body layer 122. The cylinder 123, on the other hand, is formed of a thin layer type elastic rubber material which is larger in rigidity than the elastic body layer 122. The elastic body layer 122 and cylinder 123 are mounted in a press-contacting state and fixed without shifting in position from each other. Consequently, the deformation or strain of the toner carrier by the toner control member is eliminated as much as possible to obtain a stable image. |
