PURPOSE:To obtain an agricultural and horticultural germicide, containing a blend of a specific imidazole based compound with polyauxin group antibiotic substance or a salt thereof as an active ingredient and capable of exhibiting extremely high blight controlling effects. CONSTITUTION:An agricultural and horticultural germicide containing a blend of a compound expressed by the formula (R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is alkenyl), e.g. N-[1-propyl(2-butenyloxycarbonyl)methyl]-N-[(furan-2-yl)methyl]carbamoyli midazole, with a polyauxin group antibiotic substance or a salt thereof at 1:0.1-1 weight ratio as an active ingredient. The above-mentioned agricultural and horticultural germicide is formulated into wettable powder, flowable pharma ceutical, etc., by using the active ingredient together with a carrier and various adjuvants by a conventional method and capable of exhibiting particularly remarkable effects on bakanae disease of rice plants as a seed disinfectant and on powdery mildew of cucumber and fire blight of apple as a foliar spray agent. The seed disinfectant is advantageous because of high penetrating and migrating properties. |
