Brake cylinder pressure controller for vehicle

The controller has a brake valve (1) with a variable through cross-section to set the brake pressure according to the result of comparison between wanted and measured pressure. When the brake valve control signal reaches a threshold signalling the beginning of braking, the brake valve is set for time to its largest open position. The time is at least equal to the time needed for applying the brake. The brake valve is then reduced and controlled according to the wanted/measured comparison.
