To apply adhesive to wood sections using needle-controlled jets, the needles (7) are held stationary in a jet block (1) with a common pressure channel (2) for the jets (3) from it. The jet block (1) is moved towards the wood surface, in relation to the needles (7), so that the needles (7) can release the jets (3). Pref. a synchronised adhesive pressure is applied in the pressure channel (2) with the movement of the jet block (1) so that it is increased in each cycle before the needles (7) and the jets (3), and then decreases after the jets are closed, using a piston pump which increases the pressure and, when the jets are closed, sucks further adhesive into the channel from a container.
