PURPOSE:To improve uniformity by controlling a pitch irregularity, air accumulation and an exposure of a cord, by a method wherein the beginning and the end of a sheet material are abutted upon each other, a narrow width material, in which two or one cord is buried, running parallel with the cord is piled upon the sheet material and the same is pressed into the abutted part by pressing the same against the abutted part. CONSTITUTION:Although the end 1a and beginning 2a of a longitudinal direction of a sheet material 1 extending in parallel with cords 5, 6 are abutted and stuck to each other with pressure, firstly a narrow width material 8 is piled upon an abutted part 7 extending over the whole sphere of the same. Hereupon, the narrow width material 8 is constituted of cover rubber 9 of the same material as cover rubbers 3, 4 and a cord 10 of the same material as the cords 5, 6. As for the number of the cord, one piece of the cord is preferable from a view point of minimization of irregularity of the cord. Then the same is turned while a roller 16 is being pressed against the narrow width material 8. With this construction, the narrow width material 8 is pressed against the abutted part 7 and pressed into the interior of the part 7. |
