The melt film 12 extruded from a slot die 1 onto a take-off roll 3 in the cooling system 10 is initially cooled on the circumferential surface of the take-off roll and by the ambient air, subsequently passes into a water bath of a water trough 4, into which the take-off roll 3 dips, and finally a transfer is made from the water bath of the water trough 4 into an aftercooling water bath 5, in which the melt film, solidified to form a prefilm, is brought to the desired final temperature of about 40@C. When leaving the take-off roll 3, the partially solidified melt film 12 has an average temperature Tü of between 100@C and 120@C. To optimise the dwell time of the melt film 12 in the cooling system 10 and in the aftercooling water bath 5, the roll diameter D of the take-off roll and the length L of the aftercooling water bath 5 are made to match each other. <IMAGE> |
