Process for the production of warp knits, especially stitch-bonded knits, with weft threads, the latter being delivered from a weft-thread magazine and being inserted into the knit according to the run of the horizontal stitch rows, and the knit being produced on a warp-knitting machine, such as a stitch-bonding machine, comprising a stationary knock-over comb and a locking-in means, the weft threads being fed between these means, and the two being arranged separately from one another, characterised in that each individual weft thread is guided independently under the plane of compound needles and is guided onto the inside of the locking-in means, whilst the needles knock over the old half-stitches, in that the compound needles subsequently draw the new half-stitches substantially further rearwards than the loop length required for the knock-over and subsequent application of the half-stitches, in that, during this time, perforated needles drop the warp threads continuously under the weft thread with a lead in relation to the first weft thread, in that the weft thread simultaneously slides downwards on the inside of the locking-in means, until, as a result of the overlength of the new half-stitches and as a result of the functioning of a knit take-up, the weft thread assumes a temporary position located substantially below the plane into which the weft thread is subsequently drawn up again by the warp threads subjected to relatively high tension, after the [lacuna] ...
