In a tyre pressure control system (30) with compressed-air source (4), which is connected to the vehicle tyres (19) via supply lines (9, 23), into which rotors (R), servo-valves (6) with orifice plates (7) and an adjustable control valve (8) with actuated relay valve (5) are connected, direct tyre venting is provided by means of a large venting valve (10), which is actuated by means of a smaller servo-valve (6) connected downstream of the venting valve (10), as seen from the tyre. The control of the venting takes place in an advantageous way by the effective pressure of a measuring orifice plate (16) at the relay valve (5). The invention results in particularly short venting times (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
