PURPOSE:To improve stability at high speeds and direction change characteristic at low speeds with a suspension device capable of changing toe characteristics by making a ground clearance greater, a front side bump-in, and a rear side bump-out at the time of low speeds, and reversing them at the time of high speeds. CONSTITUTION:To controller 2, receiving a vehicle speed signal from a vehicle speed sensor 1, compares the signal with a preset vehicle speed. When a vehicle speed is higher than the preset value, a signal for decreasing a ground clearance is outputted and a ground clearance adjustment device is driven via drivers 31 through 34 and actuators 41 through 44 to decrease the ground clearance. This makes a reference position of a suspension device go up. Since this discriminates a pump from a rebound, driving stability is improved. At low speeds on the contrary, the ground clearance is increased and the reference position is lowered. Accordingly, an inner wheel tends to toe-out and an outer wheel to toe-in on the front side at the time of turning while on the rear side the tendency becomes opposite. As a result, direction changing characteristic is improved. |
