PURPOSE:To obtain an organic type photosensitive body superior in abrasion resistance and lengthened in life by forming a specified surface protective layer on an organic photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The organic type photosensitive body is obtained by successively laminating the organic photosensitive layer and the surface protective layer on a conductive substrate. The surface protective layer is made of a plasma polymerized organic film containing at least O, and the plasma polymerized film is prepared by introducing a hydrocarbon gas and a gaseous O-containing compound, such as an inorganic compound like O2, ozone, water vapor, CO, and so forth or an organic compound having a functional group or bond, such as a heterocyclic compound having a hydroxyl, aldehyde group, ester bond or oxygen, as a starting material, and hydrogen or argon gas or the like as a carrier gas, and applying glow discharge to a substrate kept at a temperature <=100 deg.C. |
