PURPOSE:To perform a changeover of paper feeding parts without entailing any intervention of an operator, by installing plural units of these paper feeding parts, while detecting the presence of paper in each paper feeding part, and performing transfer control over these plural paper feeding parts with a command out of a higher host device. CONSTITUTION:When paper runs short in a first feeding part 2, it is detected by a detecting mechanism 4, and the signal is fed to a control part 11, this control part 11 judges whether this signal is issued out of the first feeding part 2 or a second feeding part 5, and it transmits this information to a higher host device 10. With this information, this higher host device 10 transmits a signal selecting the second feeding part 5 to the control part 11, so that the feeding part 5 is operated by the control part 11, thus paper feeding takes place and printing is continued. |
