PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal panel of a high response speed and high contrast by subjecting a glass substrate to an orientation treatment with plural orienting or different means. CONSTITUTION:Since the glass substrate is subjected to the orientation treatment 3 by the plural orienting 3 or different means, the liquid crystal molecules in an initial state face the specified direction in a uniform state. All the spontaneous polarizations of the liquid crystal molecules line up steeply and always stably in the direction of an electric field when a voltage 19 is impressed to a liquid crystal in such a state. The glass substrate is subjected to the orientation treatment and, therefore, the spontaneous polarizations of the liquid crystal are steeply inverted when the polarity of the impressed voltage 9 are inverted. The liquid crystal panel of the extremely high response speed and high contrast ratio is obtd. by utilizing the light scattering which arises at this time. |
