PURPOSE:To certainly cut a steel billet into two pieces and separate these from each other by arranging a pair of V-shaped edges in opposition to each other with the steel billet interposed between them and having said edges bite into said billet. CONSTITUTION:A pair of V-shaped edges 1, 2, put in progress to a steel billet 3 respectively, bites into said billet 3 to go on cutting it. Then both tips 1a, 2a of an upper edge 1 and a lower edge 2 reach the vicinity of the central part of the plate thickness of said billet 3. Said tips 1a, 2a are put in continuous biting into the steel billet 3 until cutting is finished at a position where said tips 1a and 2a do not contact edges of their respective opposite sides. An uncut part of the steel billet between said tips 1a and 2a is torn off from both tips. |
