The pressure regulator contains a PI regulator (15) and a differentiator (13) which determines the change with respect to time of the required value signal (Usoll). If the output signal of the differentiator (13) exceeds a predetermined limit value, then the proportional gain of the regulator is increased (regulator 16), and the integral part of the regulator is deactivated.
