A solenoid valve (31) is arranged on a pressure-medium passage (42a) in order to open or close said passage. An electromagnet (35, 38) and a guide element (33), which is provided with a guide recess (33a), are arranged in a housing (32). A moving armature (39) is arranged between the electromagnet (35, 38) and the guide element (33), and responds to excitation of the electromagnet. A valve element (41) which is constructed as a closing element and is connected to the moving armature (39) in order to open or close the pressure-medium passage (42a) depending on the excitation state of the electromagnet (35, 38) is arranged displaceably in the guide recess (33a) of the guide element (33). The moving armature (39) consists of a ferromagnetic material, while the aggregate formed from the guide element (33) and the valve element (41) has at least one element, namely the valve element (41), which is produced from non-magnetic material and has a surface which is treated using a nitration method. This prevents iron particles being deposited on the valve element (41), prevents an unfavourable formation of the magnetic field produced by the electromagnet, and additionally improves the corrosion and wear resistance, so that ductile operation of the valve element (41) is ensured throughout the entire life. <IMAGE>
