发明名称 DOUBLE AZIMUTH MAGNETIC HEAD FOR DISC DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the recording density on a disc by building two recording and reproducing magnetic circuits having gaps different in azimuth angle in one magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:When a recording current flows to a coil A 13, a magnetic field is generated in a magnetic circuit A 17, and a magnetized pattern is recorded on the disc by a gap A 15 having an azimuth angle +theta. When the recording current flows to a coil B 14, a magnetic field is generated in a magnetic circuit B 18, and a magnetized pattern is recorded on the disc by a gap B 16 having an azimuth angle -theta. In case that information on a track recorded by the magnetic circuit A 17 is reproduced, the head is so moved that the gap A 15 is placed on this track, and the output of the coil A 13 is read out to reproduce information on the track. Information on a track recorded by the magnetic circuit B is reproduced similarly. Even if off-track occurs, the output from tracks other than the objective track are small because of the azimuth effect and has hardly an influence. Thus, the recording density is improved without requiring guard bands.
