A circular pin plug and socket connector (10) has a conductor support block (40) with a central axial bore (42) and a plurality of grooves (50) extending radially from the bore. A cable (C) having a plurality of conductors (18) is received through the bore, with the conductors in the cable flaring radially into an individual ones of the grooves. The grooves are arranged to receive and to orient the individual conductors of the cable along a predetermined presentment therewith which receive the tines (16T) of insulation displacement contacts (16M).
