The vane pump for generating a vacuum is flanged to the crank case of a motor vehicle. Lubrication takes place via a lubricating oil nozzle which is directed into the internal bore, without completely filling the internal cross-section of the internal bore. The pump outlet communicates with the rotor interior. In the event of the oil supply being low, the outlet duct (12) is connected to the rotor interior (21) via a non-return valve (check valve) (24) and radial ducts (27, 28). Thus the lubricating oil is returned into the pump. For the purpose of collecting the lubricating oil in the rotor interior (21), the latter may be provided with a collar (bead) (22) towards its outlet. <IMAGE>
