In the case of a breech action for rifles having two barrels, an elongated sear (4) can be displaced in the breech housing (1) by means of a hammer spring (filing pin spring, hammer bar spring, main spring, sear spring). A supporting flap (8) which can pivot is provided in each case in the region of its front part (4a) on its two opposite side surfaces (4c, 4d), each of which supporting flaps (8) has at its rear end (8a) a supporting edge (25) and is loaded inwards towards the sear (4) by spring force. A supporting surface (34) on which the supporting edge (25) is supported is provided on each side surface (4d). Each supporting flap (8) is allocated a trigger (18) on whose trigger catch (20) a catch (32), which is provided on the supporting flap (7, 8), is supported when the sear (4) is in the cocked position. The front part (4a) of the sear (4) is supported such that it can be deflected towards the two supporting flaps (8) and has on its end two projecting firing attachments (14, 15), each of which is allocated to a firing bolt (2, 3). <IMAGE>
