The travel status indicator in motor vehicles for the traffic travelling behind is a signalling unit which consists of three differently coloured lights, is mounted on the rear of the vehicle and indicates to the traffic travelling behind the three phases of the respective operating state of the vehicle, namely acceleration (depressing accelerator pedal), freewheeling (not depressing the accelerator pedal and not braking) and deceleration (braking) of the vehicle and thus increases the reaction time and possible ways of reacting of the traffic travelling behind.
