PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance, durability, etc., of member for glass pressing device at high temperature and to improve qualities of molded article, by forming at least part of the surface of member for glass pressing device with a material consisting essentially of a nitride or a boron-containing substance. CONSTITUTION:For example, a base material 12b of a lamellar transporting arm 12 equipped with a bored carrier insertion part 12a and a base material 13b of a carrier 13 are made of stainless steel SUS310s having improved corrosion resistance. Then layers 12c and 13c comprising a nitride (e.g. Si3N4 or TiN) or a boron-containing substance (e.g. B4C or NiB) as a main component is formed on the surface of the base material 12b and 13b by PVD method, etc. Consequently, since corrosion resistance of the surface of the transporting arm 12 and the carrier 13 is improved and wetting properties to glass are reduced, durability is increased. High-quality molded articles can be obtained. |
