NEW MATERIAL:Bacillus circulance LCC-1 strain (FERM P-8981) capable of producing chitosanase and having the following properties. Aerobic Gram-negative bacillus having peritrichous flagellum and locomotivity; reduction of nitric acid salt, positive; V-P reaction, negative; production of indole, negative; production of hydrogen sulfide, negative; starch hydrolyzing property, positive; gelatin hydrolyzing property, positive; urease, positive; oxidase, positive; catalase, positive; growth in the presence of 5% NaCl, negative; growth temperature, 15-42 deg.C, especially 25-35 deg.C; growth pH, 4-11. USE:A microbial strain capable of producing chitosanase which is a chitosan- decomposition enzyme. A large quantity of chitosanase having high activity can be produced. PREPARATION:The strain is cultured in a proper medium under aerobic condition e.g. at 7.0pH and 28 deg.C for 96hr. |
