PURPOSE:To form a halide glass having high stability and long infrared permeation limit wavelength, by constituting a composition containing Pb and Cu and at least one kind of Cs, Rb, K, etc., as cationic components in a specific ratio and containing Br, I and O as anionic components in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:Above-mentioned halide glass contains 58-83% Pb, 7-28% Cu and 6-17% of at least one kind selected from group consisting of Cs, Rb, K, Ag, Tl and Cd based on cationic atom percentage (total: 100%) and 40-100% Br, 0-60% I and 0-10% O based on anionic atom percentage (total: 100%). |
