GEL FORMING MIXTURE BASED ON ALKALI SILICATE

A liquid mixture of alkali metal silicate, water and trialkoxy silanes of the general formula R-Si(OR')3, which solidify in a predeterminable time into a silicic acid-containing gel. The mixture can contain additional means for influencing the gel formation and gel strength. An important area of use of the liquid mixtures according to the invention is for earth stabilisation in the building art.
