PURPOSE:To reduce the aberrations of a lens accompanied with widening of the angle and to make a device convenient for movement by deviating the center position in the longitudinal direction of an image reading slit on a plate writing face from the optical axis of the focusing lens. CONSTITUTION:Though an electrophotographic copying machine body 50 and the plate writing face or the like are arranged in the conventional manner, a mirror system for bending the optical path is not used at all to obtain the same image as conventional. Since only the lens is protruded out of the plate writing face to the side and mirrors or the like are not used, the structure has a very small capacity. Thus, the device is made convenient for movement because it is made light-weight and small-sized, and the attaching adjustment of mirrors is made unnecessary to eliminate the degradation in picture quality and the reduction of the quantity of light due to mirrors.
