PURPOSE:To ensure the delivery disable notice at missing of communication text by backing up the 1st nonvolatile memory as to management information by the 2nd nonvolatile memory and backing up the 2nd nonvolatile memory by the 1st nonvolatile memory so as to back up the management information economically. CONSTITUTION:If a fault of a magnetic disc device 20 takes place at the start of transmission, a central controller 8 reads corresponding picture data management information 21-2 based on a picture data management information pointer 14-1 in delivery waiting management information 12-1 pointed out by a delivery wait management information pointer 11. When a fault is detected at the readout, the central controller 8 commands the sending of a character string representing disabled delivery with respect to a call terminal number on delivery control information 15-1 to a line controller 4 via a data transmission/reception equipment 7. The line controller 4 controls a character pattern generator 5 to convert the string into a facsimile signal, which is sent to a facsimile terminal equipment through a data converter 6.
