REMEDY FOR ISCHEMIC CARDIOPATHY

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled remedy, containing a polypeptide having substiantially the same amino acid sequence as that of human superoxide dismutase as an active ingredient and useful for treating acute cardiac infarction. CONSTITUTION:A remedy containing a polypeptide having substantially the same amino acid sequence as that of human superoxide dismutase as an active ingredient. The above-mentioned polypeptide is obtained by cultivating, e.g. an unicellular microorganism transformed by a recombinant DNA having human copper, zinc type superoxide dismutase structural gene on the downstream side of a gene expression regulating gene having positive regulation site and collecting the polypeptide from the resultant culture. The polypeptide is orally or parenterally administered once - in several divided portions in 0.017-0.17mg/ kg.body weight a day.
