摘要 |
PURPOSE:To form a wear resistant layer contg. uniformly dispersed fine titanium carbide particles on the surface of a Ti alloy, by coating the Ti alloy with powder of a carbide having lower stability as carbide than titanium carbide and radiating laser beams on the powder. CONSTITUTION:A Ti alloy as a base material 1 is uniformly coated with powder 3 of WC or the like having lower stability as carbide than titanium carbide to about 1mm thickness. laser beams 4 are radiated on the powder 3 with a CO2 laser beam generator or the like to form a layer 2 contg. uniformly dispersed fine titanium carbide particles on the surface of the base material 1. Thus, a Ti alloy member causing no cracking by thermal stress or residual stress and having high hardness and especially superior wear resistance can be obtd. |
