PURPOSE:To balance axial thrust, by interconnecting the discharge side of a pump to a pump front side chamber between an impeller front wall and a casing front side wall in the pump in a front state via an equalizing passage. CONSTITUTION:An equalizing passage 38, interconnecting the discharge side of a final stage pump 13i to a pump front side chamber 33 of a first state pump 13a, is formed by a through hole 37 of a discharge side casing 6, a cylindri cal clearance 36, an annular space 34 and a through hole 35 of a casing front side wall 31 of the first stage pump 13a. Discharge pressure of the final state pump 13i is added to the pump front side chamber 33 via the equalizing passage 38, and thereby axial thrust in the reverse direction is produced in an impeller 11, thus the axial thrust is balanceable as a whole.
