PURPOSE:To aim at preventing any erroneous ignition to cylinders other than the igniting cylinder from occurring, by performing a cylinder discrimination from a firing order detecting counter, a reference position signal and an angle signal, taking the signal and AND, while checking the ignition signal output at the time of a cylinder discriminator malfunction. CONSTITUTION:With a reference position signal 1a and an angle signal 2a, each of signals 3a-3d of a reference cylinder, a fourth cylinder, second and firth cylinders, and third and sixthcylinders is outputted out of a cylinder discriminator 3, while a reference cylinder signal distributor circuit 5 outputs ignition position signals 5a-5f of respective cylinders according to their firing orders at the rising of an ignition signal 4a out of an arithmetic unit 4. And, these ignition position signals 5a-5f of each cylinder, the ignition signal 4a and each of cylinder ignition position signals 22a-24a as well as AND all are taken in with AND circuits 6-11, outputting ignition signals 6a-11a. Therefore, when the cylinder discriminator 3 gets a malfunction, these ignition signals are not longer outputted, whereby any erroneous ignition to cylinders other than the igniting cylinder by the malfunction is preventable.
