PURPOSE:To make a roof longitudinally slidable without installing a hold-down member in the upper part of a car room, by supporting the roof slidably before and behind at two points separated longitudinally by a longitudinal pair of links attached to a roll bar slidably before and behind. CONSTITUTION:When a car room is opened, a roof 2 is unlocked. And a pinion of a driver 22 is rotated, and the roof 2 is moved to the rearward via a spiral cable 20. If so, both links 11 and 12 in front and in the rear of parallel linkage 14 turn round to the rearward and rise up, whereby the roof 2 goes upward. In consequence, the roof 2 is completely separated from a front window frame member 6 and a roll bar 5 and supported by only these longitudinal links 11 and 12. Next, when the roof 2 is moved to the rear, a telescopic type pipe 19 is contracted, whereby the side of a base end of the cable 20 is housed in a guide pipe 21. And, when the roof 2 is entirely retreated, the roof 2 is held in horizontality on the roll bar 5.
