PURPOSE:To manufacture an exhaust cleaning device easily and efficiently, by providing a wax material on at least one surface of either a corrugated foil or planar foil, piling up these two foils and winding up the same into a cylindrical shape to form a honeycomb body. CONSTITUTION:A wax material layer 6 is made to cover or coated on at least one surface of either a corrugated foil 3 or a planar foil 4 made of thin stainless steel. Said corrugated foil 3 and planar foil 4 are piled up and wound into an almost cylindrical shape to form a honeycomb core body 2, and then the wax material layer is heated and melted to bond the corrugated foil 3 and the planer foil 4 together. Further, the honeycomb core body 2 is covered with a catalyst substance, which is accommodated in an outer cylinder 1 and retained by an engaging member 12. |
