NET-LIKE FILTER HAVING EXCELLENT SLAG REMOVING CAPACITY

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the capacity to remove scum, slag, etc. suspended and floated in a molten metal by specifying the components of glass fibers and shape retaining material of a net-like filter formed of the glass fibers. CONSTITUTION:The shape retaining agent is deposited on the net-like woven fabric formed of the glass fibers by which the net-like filter is formed. The glass fibers to be used to form such net-like filter are specified in the content of SiO2 to >=75wt%. The shape retaining material prepd. by adding natural pumice powder to a binder is used for said filter. The net-like filter which has the high slag removing capacity and is usable for filtering a molten high melting metal is obtd. in the above-mentioned manner.
