PURPOSE:To easily prevent the waving of molten metal surface by arranging generating means of induction current and DC magnetic field to the molten metal in a pouring basin formed at the upper part of twin rolls to restrain the vertical motion at the upper part of molten metal by relative action of both. CONSTITUTION:The pouring basin 2 is formed by a surrounding wall 5 at the upper part of twin rolls 1 to continuously receive the molten steel 3 and a cast slab 4 is continuously cast by cooling through the twin rolls 1. Then, at near the upper part of molten steel 3 in one pair of the vertical wall parts 5a of the surrounding wall 5, opening ends 7a, 7b of a frame-shape iron core 7 winding a coil 6 on the outer face thereof are respectively arranged closely. A circuit 10 connecting a condenser 9 in series to the coil 6 through a rectifier 8 is arranged and by throwing a switch 11 for the circuit 10, the electric charge charged in the condenser 9 is discharged to the coil 6 through the rectifier 8, to repeatedly conduct the high DC current to the coil 6. In this way, the strong DC magnetic field H is repeatedly generated from the opening ends 7a, 7b toward horizontal direction, so as penetrating the molten steel 3 and the induction current is conducted at the upper part of molten steel 3 and so the vertical motion at the upper part of molten steel 3 is restrained. |
