PURPOSE:To improve stability during high speed driving and direction changing characteristic during low speed driving by connecting a front operation rod with a piston rod of a front cylinder via a mechanism for changing piston travels to be transmitted. CONSTITUTION:According to the turning of a steering wheel, a rack bar 11 which is a front operation rod moves and at the same time makes a piston rod 20 of a front cylinder 16 move by means of the swinging of a connecting rod 107 of a mechanism 104 for changing piston travels to be transmitted to send pressure oil in an oil pressure chamber 18 or 19 to a rear cylinder via an oil passage 36 and 37 so that a rear wheel is steered in the same direction with the front wheel. A swinging fulcrum of the connecting rod 107 during high speed driving is brought to a position 'a' by means of an oil pressure control circuit 112, a piston 110 and a fulcrum position adjustment rod 114 so that a rear steering amount is not reduced. On the other hand, said fulcrum is brought to a position 'b' so that the rear steering amount is reduced. Thus, stability during high speed driving and direction changing characteristic during low speed driving can be improved. |
