PURPOSE:To suspend and convey a board like conveying object in a noncontact condition by means of a fluid by providing a nozzle on the top end of a base cylinder part and providing a flange like projecting part which projects out sideways and the bottom face of which is at a right angle to an axis or the outer edge of which is inclined downward, on its bottom end. CONSTITUTION:When a noncontact conveying device A and a conveying object B approaches each other to a defined distance, as a fluid C is sent in from a nozzle 1, the fluid C passes through between a cushion room 4 and a projecting part 3, and the conveying object B and discharged outward. When the distance (h) between the bottom face of the projecting part 3 and the conveying object B is large, the noncontact conveying device A functions as an ejector, reducing the pressure in the cushion room 4 to draw up the conveying object B. When the distance (h) becomes small, it functions as a pressure type air cushion, increasing the pressure in the cushion room 4 to apply a force for separating the conveying object B. Accordingly, the conveying object B can be suspendedly held and conveyed maintaining an interval with a balanced force in the air, without being brought into contact with the noncontact conveying device B. |
