<p>PURPOSE:To surely detect the rupture of a forming pipe and to reduce the trouble generation in a hot continuous pipe making line by finding the difference in the detection speeds of measuring rolls arranged at specific intervals along the line and comparing it with the specified value. CONSTITUTION:1st and 2nd rolls 31, 32 of a measuring roll 3 are arranged at specified intervals and brought into contact with a forming pipe P to detect the transfer speed. The detection signal is then transmitted to a cutter control part 8 via a cutting part deciding machine 7 to perform a cutting by a cutter 4. In this case the difference in the detection speeds of the 1st and 2nd rolls 31, 32 is found and when the speed difference exceeds the specified value, it is decided that the rupture part of the forming pipe P is passed through the space between rolls 31, 32. At the time when the rupture part is detected, the work start of the cutter 4 is delayed by the specified distance in case of the cutter 4 being prior to its work start. With this method the rupture of the forming pipe 4 can correctly be detected and the cutting work can optimumly be processed.</p> |
