PURPOSE:To increase the processing speed of a microprogram and to simplify a microprogram controller by switching architecture modes via a controller and using an exclusive microprogram for each architecture. CONSTITUTION:The address of a microinstruction sequence to be executed is set to a register 1 and an executing architecture mode is decided and set to a register 2. A single entry of an address array 4 corresponding to the contents of the register 1 is read out to a signal line 12. A comparator 4 compares the architecture mode under execution that is held by the register 2 with bits 0-2 of the register 1 respectively. If coincidence is secured among these comparison results, the output of a buffer memory 3 is validated and the next address is set to the register 1. While the output of the memory 3 is invalidated and at the same time a load control circuit 6 is started via a signal line 13 when noncoincidence is obtained from said comparison. Then an address of a large-capacity memory 7 is produced by the circuit 6 and the processing speed of a microprogram is increased. |
