A pressure-sensitive recording material is described, comprising an electron-accepting compound, and at least one of electron-donating colorless dyes represented by formula (I) or formula (II) <IMAGE> (I) <IMAGE> (II) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, and R8 each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkenyl group, a lower alkoxy group, or a halogen atom; and R9 and R10 each represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, provided that at least one of R1, R2, R3, and R4 represents a lower alkyl group or a lower alkenyl group.
