PURPOSE:To efficiently keep color balance by forming plural reference toner images having different recording area ratios on the non-transfer part of an image forming body, reading out the reflected density of respective toner images and setting up image forming conditions in accordance with the read results. CONSTITUTION:The image forming body on which an yellow toner image is formed is uniformly charged again by a scrotron charging pole and then exposed by image exposure L based upon the recording data of a Magenta component. The formed latent image is developed by a developing device DB to form dichromatic toner image based upon yellow toner and Magenta toner on the image forming body 1. Similarly, a toner image based upon cyanine and black toner is superposed to the toner image and the superposed toner image is developed to form a 4-color toner image on the image forming body 1. A photosensor 35 consisting of a light emitting element and a light receiving element reads out the reflection density values of reference toner images C1-C4 based upon yellow, Magenta, cyanine, and black and an image part B obtained by removing the reference toner images from the multicolor toner image is transferred to recording paper P by a transfer pole 33. The recording paper P is separated from the image forming body 1 by a separating pol 34 and fixed by a fixing device 31. |
