PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of information reading by forming regions consisting of the same pattern to the same position of plural information tracks and providing identification regions to the positions where the information is recorded in succession to said regions at the time of reproducing the information. CONSTITUTION:The binary-coded signal corresponding to the information '10111101' or '10000001' is detected only in the range 26 by gating in the range where the signal 22' corresponding to the identification region 22 is ought to be detected right after the detection of the signal 21' corresponding to a preamble region 21. Identification is made that the reading of a sensor array is correctly in an ontrack state when the signal 22' is detected only in said range 26. The information is then read from a data region 23 in succession. The specified preamble regions 21 are provided to respective tracks 4 in the above-mentioned manner and the identification regions 22 are provided right after the preamble regions 21. Since the reading of the identification regions 22 is executed only in the specified range, the identification regions 22 are correctly detected. |
