PURPOSE:To improve the level of a reproducing output, and to prevent the level of the reproducing output from dropping even if an off-track is generated, by making a recording gap larger than a reproducing gap, and also, making a reproducing track width smaller than a recording track width. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic material block 11 has width lw and opposed to a nonmagnetic material gap layer 16, and the narrow width part 12b of a magnetic material block 12 has width lr and opposed to a nonmagnetic material gap layer 14 (lw>lr). The nonmagnetic material gap layer 16 constitutes the recording gap of gap length gw, and the nonmagnetic material gap layer 14 constitutes the reproducing gap of gap length gr (gw>gr). Also, even if a recording track 22 (having width lw) has been brought to off-track by a displacement quantity (d), since a reproducing track 23 (having width lr) is formed narrowly by a prescribed width, a sufficient reproducing output is obtained, and also, only a recording data on a recording track 202 is reproduced, and it does not occur that an unnecessary data is reproduced from adjacent tracks 201, 203. |
